ISA

13th September 2008 is a black day in Malaysia to be marked in our calendars. The most vocal activies among bloggers Raja Perta kamarudin or RPK as know to all bloggers was detained under the draconian law [ISA] which all walks of Malaysians detest. Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamaruddin, Seputeh MP and Kinrara assemblyman Teresa Kok and Sin Chew Daily reporter Tan Hoon Cheng under the ISA news was flased in all MSM. Looks like a desperate move by the ruling BN government to test waters if people who oppose the government would react and flood the streets. This would give the BN government an excuse to declare a state of emergency so that they can avert the cross over of BN MPs to Pakatan Rakyat to form the new government as promised by de facto leader Dato Sri Anwar Ibrahim.

This is something expected and foretold by RPK in his blog some days ago. The minister of Home Affairs Syed Albar may not realize that he had awaken the sleeping giant. Now Malaysians are more pissed off by his move and no amount of excuse by the PM would help ease the tenssion and agnger against the BN. We hope DSAI would keep to his promise and not disappoint Malaysians who supported him in his campaign to enter parliament. We had enough of the lies and deceiving ways fo the BN government for the last 51 years of rule. As all things must come to an end and so is the role of BN as the ruling party of Malaysia. We want to see a change and and change we will see. Longe live PR and People's Power.

Bridge Over Trouble Water.

My mind is disturbed after watching the 8 pm prime time news at TV3. This guy by the name of Ahmad Islam the bahagian head of UMNO Bukit Bendera Pulau Pinang seem to think he is above the law and can insight hatred againts the Chinese and particularly the Gerakan party which is a partner of UMNO/BN Pulau Pinang. His gang of supporters were behaving like barbarians and was seen tearing down the photo of former Chief Minister of Pualu Pinang. This could be seen as a challenge to the Chinese community of Pulau Pinang and may start a riot that could escalate nation wide. I mean what was this Ahmad Islamil thinking? Is he out to create chaos to divert the attention of the people from the real issue that is brewing in UMNO? The people know what will happen on 16th of September 2008 and all are waiting anxiously for the day they will be freed from the regime of UMNO rule of Malaysia for the last 51 years. The people had said "enough is enough and we want change" is now the calling of the people of Malaysia. I'm not into politics but I fully support for the change and PR a coalition of three opposition political parties [PKR, DAP, PAS] had won five states in the last general election. Oppositon leader Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim seems to be the right man to lead Malaysia compared to BN leader Dato Seri Abdullah Badahwi.

But the crux of the matter here is this Ahmad Islamil has now created so much tenssion and anger among the Chinese community [calling them pendatang or squaters in Malaysia] by refusing to apologise for his statemnet during the Permatang Pauh by election. What I can perceive is he is hoping that the Chinese would raise up to defend their honor and it would trigger a riot like May 13th 1969. They lost thousands of lives and would not want to see another May 13th. This Ahamad guy should be charged under ISA but seems the police and ministery of home affairs are not moving an inch but are quick to suggest that Raja Petra Kamaruddin should be charged under ISA for insulting Islam and its prophet which ofcourse is not true. The government believe that blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin is the main cause of BN lose of five states and a recent by-election of Permatang Pauh. He is now considered number one enemy of the ruling government. RPK in short has exposed all the evil of UMN/BN rule for the last 22 years since the ex primier Tun Dr. Mahathir. Abuse of power by the police and elected representitive, control of judiciary by fixing of judges, corruption and mismanagement of government agencies has been going on for the last 22 years. The people of Malayisa had be awaken by RPK and the resul of it UMNO/BN lost five states. Now the people of Malaysia are waiting for a new dawn and that is on 16th of September.

As huamn beings we as a multiracial country should be united and respect each others sensitivity. Any form of racial instigation would bring about the danger of bloodshed between races and the stability of the counrty would be at stake. All would be losers and the coutry would come to a stand still. Is this what this Ahmad bloke wants? It looks like so and only tomorrow would tell what the outcome of his press statement and what kind of action is going to be taken by his party president dato Seri Abdullah Badahwi.

PATRIOTISM

Today is 31st of August 2008 which means we Malaysians from all walks of life have something in common. It is 51st independence day [MERDEKA] and we all should be enjoying this day by displaying the national flag a show of patriotism to the nation and the King. But I do not think that some of us would want to do that. It is not that we do not love the country of our birth but since we the Indians and Chinese had been classified as immigrants and do not have the right to the privilege of government assistance or to be treated as equal citizen of this county how could the government expect patriotism from us?

Our forefathers came to this country when it was once a virgin jungle. They toiled this land by clearing the jungle planting rubber, sugarcane, laying roads, railway tracks, mined the land for tin ore and set up trading so that this land which was once a virgin jungle turned into towns, cities and ports. The British who were once masters of this land made used of the Indians and Chinese to develop this country and when they left, it was conditioned that the Indians and Chinese be made citizens so that they can live along with the Malays [a race that long before the founding of Malaya migrated from the Indonesian islands] who claim this country to be theirs.

We, the Indians and Chinese are 3rd generation of our forefathers and are sons of this soil. We have no ties with the mother land of our forefathers but only the country of our birth which is Malaysia. If we are considered by the major political party that rules the country for the last 51 years with the coalition of Indian and Chinese base political parties that we the Indians and Chinese are second class citizens who do not deserve the privilege enjoyed by the Malays surely the government cannot expect any patriotism from us. UMNO [United Malay National organization], the party that governs this country with the help of the coalition parties have full control over the wealth of this nation and refuses to share the economic cake in equal proportion. This has caused much trouble and dissatisfaction among the Indians and Chinese citizens who had been for the last 51 years fighting for equal rights which the government refuses to listen nor review article 153 which as known as the social contract of our founding fathers of independence.

Patriotism would only be felt and heard from the Indians and Chinese if they are treated with respect as equal citizens of Malaysia. Until than the Indians and Chinese would always think of themsleves as second class citizens and patriotism would be an alien word to them.

Barbarians in civilized world.

Lately there is reports of suicided bombers being active in certain part of the world. Countries like Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan are now hotbed for suicide bombers. They had been trained to be brave and heartless with promise of Paradise. Well, I don't know about paradise but I sure know about his body being blown to smithereens. Either it is a case of ignorance on the part of his leader or the leader is leading the suicide bomber to hellfire to quench his thirst for blood of his so called imaginary enemies. But why such an act and taking the lives of innocent beings? Does that help justify the means? How could these terrorist be peace at heart when they had taken the lives of innocent beings? Does their religion permit such revenge against innocent citizens? When will these people come to their senses that "an eye for an eye would make the whole world blind"?

Due to their anger and insensibility they forget that their action would only cause hatred among those who do not subscribe to their belief. How did these groups come to limelight is a big question that leader of the world must ask. There is no way that these groups can justify their reason for such atrocities. I hope all this would end sooner otherwise we all would become victims of the so called terrorist.

Value of human life.

I received this clip a couple of days ago and I almost fainted seeing how those people would have the heart to do what they were doing to the suspected victim of circumstances. Even though she was suspected of snatching someone's bag or purse these people could have handed her to the police but no, they took the law into their own hands and bludgeon her to death. I wonder if they all could sleep peacefully. We may think we are civilized but by looking at the video clip you can decide now if we truly are civilized.
